For instance, he was in South Sudan filming a documentary for UNICEF, and he discovered a great deal of weapons smuggling was going on, injuring and killing people in the country he was trying to help. Instead of lashing out, He channeled that anger into his role as Johnathan Pine, The Night Manager. (Who just so happens to be trying to take down a weapons smuggler) For Tom, acting helps him understand people, and understand how they think.
